Fractional CO2 Laser Resurfacing

Girls, if you do, read this.
this is based on my very own experience.

For those who know me in person, I'm sure most of you know that I've been suffering from acne vulgaris when I was 16. The acne went away as I was prescribed by my skin doctor a medicine called Isotretinoin (ISO). It helps to control the growth and outburst of acne and pimples. I stopped after 6 months of prescription as I saw improvement.

My skin was acne-free, but then I suffered from post-acne; SCARS.
I tried so many things ever since the acne went away - may it be creams, facials or even good skin care products that could cost up to thousands per set. Nothing worked. It only work to diminish minor scaring (e.g - blackened scars) Then it hit me, I was suffering from a serious type of scaring; it was boxcar scars and rolling scars (click here for photos, hold down the ctrl key as you click)

Last week, I went through a treatment called Fractional CO2. Here are some before afters of other patients.

Okay. maybe you think photos lie sometimes, but let me tell you, this procedure works like wonders. Fractional CO2 Laser resurfacing achieving reduction of acne scarring, wrinkles, pore sizes after one treatment. I, myself is amazed at what it did to my skin. I tried IPL, which is a lighter type of laser procedure but it did not help much as I had 'holes' on my skin. I was literally having a moon-surfaced skin on my cheeks.

Anyhow, this was how my skin looked like before, about a year ago when I started getting IPL done. IPL has less down time and clears off the brown and unwanted scarring dots on your face. It helps to tighten up pores and lighten up the skin as well. :)

Last week, I had CO2 done.
It was painful, I have to honestly tell you.
Thank goodness my doctor has this new numbing cream for the procedure which helped to bring down the pain when the laser was done. The higher the laser beam, the better the outcome. So if you could just bear through the pain, it'll surprise you! For the past 3 days, my face was swollen and was very red. I couldn't step out from the house as I will freak everybody out lol.
Then my bf bought me a flu mask from Guardian and I could go out normally now (with the mask, looking like I'm having a flu).

My skin is still peeling, but it's almost gone. There are still a little red spots on the sides of my face but my scars ARE 85% GONE! the moon-surfaced scars,yes, GONE!

i still have 2 more sessions to go for CO2. My skin has even out so much, thanks to my skin doctor. I wish you girls out there the same. Acne and pimple scars are the hardest to cure. So please, stop buying products that cost a bunch before you get a consult from your own skin doctor.

Soooo there I was.
7aste New York at 32 Mansion, Penang on the 10th of December 2010.
Party started at 7 or 8, but I was there at 12ish (after work *sobs*)
It was a big relief for me because when I reached, the party was still going on!
Lin Chong and Vivien got us some VIP passes so we where given a bottle of liquor! woots.

As I walk in the entrance, I was greeted by so many pretty girls who were assigned to their jobs to attend to us and to register us in. They had this cute uniform on, which looked a little bit like the one Britney wore for her Toxic Mtv

couldn't describe how tiring it was.. i never would wanna travel alone, in one day anymore.

Was there as a Yamaha Gridgirl for Petronas. It was not as hot as we all thought it would've been, but it was tiring indeed. Had to get up at like 530am, and be on standby at 7am. crazy!

Let's talk about reality for one second.

How many of you here are against plastic surgery & how many of you here is actually okay towards this? Some might say, going under the knife is against all rules of nature, but on the other hand people are paying their doctors hundreds and maybe hundreds of thousands to look just as good as the people they see on magazines and television. From my point of view, plastic surgery is something that you have to really consider. Not everyone can look like barbie you know. We've got to be realistic. If you're comfortable with how you look (then, shrug off what people say to you). If not then, decide for your ownself; see what's good for you.

Take Megan Fox, yeah. Her. The hubba-hubba-she's-so-hot-that's-why-i-watch-transformers actress? She's flawless. She pulls off sexy without even trying. So jealous. So, so jealous wei~! Nevertheless, she's hot but she did some improvisation on her looks to take it to the next level.

Botox seem to be the most common and popular thing these days; no matter how old you are. They're injected not because of the frown line, but to make the skin look firmer and tighter. And more radiant too :)

Oohhhh oooh! Anyone of you here watch The Hills on MTV? This 23 year old face of The Hills, Heidi Montag has this crazy obsession about plastic surgery. Not to say that she's overdone anything, but she changed almost every single thing about herself :-\ She's done over 10 procedures and now she's thinking of a boooobjob. jeez!

Took Tannie to one of the nicest place in Penang to have dinner; QEII. The food came in huge portions, we couldn't finish the whole dish! Ordered mushroom soup, beef lasagne and baked salmon. *burps* Right after, we went to Monkey Bar, Upper Penang Road to meet up with some close friends and not to mention, my sister.

I just got home from Petronas Cubprix Event (AAM) down at Padang Kota/Fort Conwallis Penang.
Got off work at 11ish last night and slept at 2am.. Woke up at 530 this morning to get ready.
6am STANDBY time @.@ Just imagine, 2 hours plus of sleep and 8 hours of work. omgwtfbbq.

Nevertheless, it was fun being a GT girl/Grid Girl/Umbrella Girl.

Uniquely designed to its best, Toywatch offers the latest trends.

The setting was awesome, tables were wrapped with black cloth and sophistication was added to it by three red roses. Didn't have the chance to take any pictures of it because us girls were there to work; yeap :( We were asked to put on our very own cocktail dresses, and the cool watches were paraded around. Easy as pie job; only 2 hours! heh!

firefly cabin crew interview

It was a beautiful saturday morning on which i had to literally pull myself out from bed for this interview session with Flyfirefly. Ever since I was young, seeing the world has always been one of the things which I want to do. I wasn't 100% prepared for the interview. I didn't have any recent passport photograph of myself, and the one that I submitted was oh-em-gee.

Anyway, I reached Vistana Hotel near Bukit Jambul at 9am, clutching my resumes and photocopies of my certificates (together with, not to mention my oh-em-gee passport photograph). To be honest, I never thought I could even make it through the first round. My height and weight was measured, I was told to fill in a form and to wait in a room. Many candidates were waiting as well, and if you were there, you could tell that they were just as nervous as I was.

And so, we were called into another small meeting room. We were asked to introduce ourselves and tell them a little bit of our background, and what not, panic kicked in. They then asked us to walk around the room in line and then line up in front of them, and performed a simple skin check on our arms, face and our backs. (*yikes*)

My heart shrunk (in a good way) when my name was called for the next round! =D We were asked to introduce ourselves again, and a series of questions were thrown at our faces.

Interviewer 1 : Why did you choose to work for firefly?
Girl 1 : Because firefly is a great airline blablablabla..blablabla and Because I love the color orange!

SHIT. wrong answer.

Interviewer 1 : Does that mean when you go for Airasia, you change your favorite color to red?

I pity the girl. She had it going. Beautiful, well groomed and fluent in English.

They then asked us a few more questions and wanted us to answer in Bahasa. I was happy that I didn't have any second thoughts of speaking in Bahasa. Then, we were asked to read a short cabin crew announcement.. It was fun, felt like we were already hired. heh.

Ah, I dont know. The interviewers seemed to like me and the other girl. But we don't know what's going to happen. We're all asked to wait for a week or two for a call back. We'll see, till then, come back for updates!

Wow! I've been to The Realm for a year now. A year. It took me one year to stand up from my fall, dust the dirt off my shoulder, give a shrug, fix my hair, wash my wound (although it stings!), dress the wound, and tell myself "This is for You." Church is a place where I found peace, comfort, love, and a reality check. It's been my second home for 365 days now. It made me into who I am today. why this title you may ask.
on Wednesday I went to get my first Miro-Fractional Laser treatment done on my face

Purpose : Tired of photoshop & i want an airbrushed complexion LOL.
Well, when I turned 16, severe acne hit me - it changed my life, took away my happiness for a while and robbed me off my self confidence; yes. i had Acne Vulgaris; considered one of the most severe acne cases. ("right click, open link in new tab" for photos from google). I hated myself at that point. Hated the way people used to stare. Hated it when people ask "ohmygod what happened?". I remember tearing whenever I look into the mirror. it sucks. With proper consultation and medication, the acne went away. But they left me with deep horrible scars. Right after, I went for 6 IPLaser treatments, it kinda helped to lighten up the scars.. but yet, it won't go away. until today, when i look into the mirror, man, i don't remember when was the last time i had skin this nice =) thanks to modern technology.

Benefits :

Downfall :
i. HURTS LIKE MAD although numb cream was applied 45 minutes before the treatment started. i almost teared during the process :(
ii. I even took painkillers (paracetamol) right after..
iii. Redness; you'll look like you're horribly sun-burnt and it may last up to 6 days
iv. Skin may peel on the 4th-6th day
v. 30-45 minutes directly after the treatment, you'll feel like your skin is burning. literally. (DAMN PAINFUL AHHH @#$#$%$%^#$#@!#$%^&*!!!)

Cost :
i. It's around RM3k for 6 times but please consult your skin specialist/doctor; price may vary.

Results :
Today is the 3rd day of my 1st Microfractional Laser treatment. My skin's reacting really good to it although I have to apply tons of moisturizer throughout the day.. I can already see the difference and it feels smoother + tighter =) despite of the redness, people are already complementing!

Remarks :
It is completely safe. The laser beam that is projected into the skin acts to "awaken" the tissues in the epidermis layer. Proven scientifically.

argh. i don't know really.. food has been one of my biggest enemies in life at the moment LOL
It's always a struggle when it comes to lunch time especially..
Sometimes I feel like giving into food when I feel tired or fatigue;
but nothing's gonna stop me!

yeps; once all of us hit 90lbs (for petite girls)
and 105lbs (for average girls)

I weighed myself today. 110lbs. lost 2lbs in 2 days.. :)
just 5 more lbs to lose in one month, to be exact.

so on day 1,
breakfast : a boiled egg (90 calories) & coffee (97 calories)
lunch : 2 small pieces of fish fritters (120 calories plus minus) & boiled egg (90 calories)
dinner : coffee (97 calories) & a tropical fruit (80 calories)
total : 574 calories

day 2
breakfast : as above (90 + 97 calories)
lunch : fried egg (110 calories), some cauliflowers (50 calories) & black coffee (80 calories)
dinner : coffee (97 calories), a few tropical fruits (100 calories) & medium egg (95 calories)
total : 614 calories. yikes =.=

day 3
goal : 400 - 500 calories. we'll see.

I've FINALLY received the letter from Georg-Simon-Ohm which was dated on the 4th of June -.-" Funny. Anyhow, I don't even know how to pronounce the name of the University properly LOL. I've got so many things to do, so many decisions to make, so many deadlines to meet but yet, so little time!

If I were to choose to go for this exhange program, I've to go all the way down to KL to get my Visa done, renew my passport, translate my insurance policy into German and book my flights as soon as possible. Can't believe it - I've got less than 2 months to go.

I don't remember when was the last time I felt so torn between decisions. Yeah, I may be a fickle minded person at times but let me tell you, I have never been so bothered my whole life. What would you do? Would you even consider yourself hopping into an airplane half a world away for 6 months and leave everything behind knowing that things will never be the same again? Or would you just stay where you are and submerge yourself with great moments shared with loved ones?

I don't wanna miss out on things; I don't want to have to leave so many loved ones and things behind just to satisfy the needs of wanting to venture all around the British soil. I know if I leave, everything is going to take a huge change. So drastically that I might not be the same Minny that you know. On the contrary, I am aware that if I don't grasp this opportunity, I might feel upset about it in the future and feel like a total fool for giving it up.

I left the television on, my favorite drama is showing. I can't sleep. I can't focus. Every time I start thinking about this, I get a pinch of fear. I don't like change. I don't want to start new. I don't want to leave. This is rather complicating because at the same time, I want to go and do the things that I've always wanted to. What's stopping me? My emotions? My fear of the unknown? Jotting down my feelings and thoughts is not an easy task, after all.

Yeah. So finally Georg-Simon Ohm University, Nurnberg Germany has sent me a letter of acceptance. I'm so thrilled and grateful that I got accepted in. I don't even have to pay for my tuition fees nor for my flight tickets. I just have to pay for my accommodation and expenditures. A dream come true.

This is all happening too fast. It's already almost JULY and I have to be in Germany before September 2nd. That means, I will have to say my goodbyes during mid August..

So many feed backs. I need more anyway. Most people encouraged me to go for it.. If I were them, I would do the same too. I get to travel around Europe and at the same time, have a great life-changing experience out of it. But, I don't know. I don't want to make a decision that I will regret. Can I handle myself when I'm there? - physically, spiritually, financially and emotionally? Can I even deter from feeling home sick? Should I go? :( My heart aches every time I think of leaving Penang for Germany. The irony. sigh.

i'm moving! like, finally ;)
i've been busy packing things into boxes. 8 of them are clothes. I didn't know I've got so many junk stored in my room - 18 BOXES altogether. It's actually kinda fun looking through old stuffs - i've stumbled upon old letters, old photographs. old gifts from friends that i don't even talk to anymore...

REALITY CHECK : i don't know which resource told you that i'll be organizing or having an open house party; but the fact is - NAH UH, WRONG. I don't even know the exact date i'll be moving in, or when i'll be completely settled down. I've got troubles packing, I'll BE having troubles unpacking too you know!

Oh yeah, before I forget, make sure you girls and guys check back my blog, I'll be opening a new e-shop blog - screw www.minswardrobe.blogspot.com, abandoned that one like ages ago haha. I've got too many clothes that I don't wear anymore. Too many pieces that don't fit well anymore. There are BRAND new ones, and also those which I've only wore for 2-3 times(?). besides being busy with packing, i'm tramatized by the fact that i'll be sitting for 3 final papers today onwards until thursday. I'm SO doomed. I'm addicted to this geography challenge game on facebook more than i'm addicted to studying. this is insane!

a LOVE BITE i would say :P

It was last Saturday, when I was just walking down the road to a shop nearby on Burmah Road. Parked my car at some quiet neighborhood to avoid getting a ticket from the mata-matas of Malaysia because there weren't any parking available for me..

So I got down from the car, amazed by the number of trees they actually have in the neighborhood, I saw a couple of new-born puppies right infront of somebody's yard. I didn't even want to touch them because they looked SO tiny - like you can actually break them into bits and tear their head off if you carry them up. And so, I walked by and OUT OF NO WHERE, this stray-BITCH (what I mean is a female stray dog - like duhhh, what were you thinking!) jumped on me, scratched my leg and bit me :(

Being a drama queen which I already am, I kicked it because it was biting and biting AND biting like as if I'm a piece of drumstick or something. I ran into my car, got really upset and frustrated, parked next to it, whined down the window and threw a bottle containing at least a good 400ml of water towards it. BULLSEYE.

I guess it was just my luck. It was just protecting its pups. A mother's instict, but HELLO if you ever walk pass any dogs or puppies, PLEASE do not annoy it. Who knows the next person who walked next to it might be the victim of your doings - just like I did! The pain was stinging and was bleeding but my heart was in more pain, and I know if I didn't get a jab, I would be diagnosed with rabies. eeee!!! Enganging my gear into D, I drove to the nearest clinic.

Clinic 1 : CLOSED.
Clinic 2 : CLOSED.
Clinic 3 : NO PARKING.

At that point, I was already thinking how my life would be living with rabies -.- Paranoid sial I tell you.. So, I drove around, having no idea where is the next nearest clinic, I looked to the left and AH! there was it.... A CLINIC!

The nurse was so nice to me, asking how I felt and let me in first. Doctor said it was a minor one with a few scratches but I still needed a jab. darnit. I hate needles, more over injections.

Doctor : Less painful on the bum.. where'd you want it? and the injection is no pain at all
ME : THE ARMMMMMMMMMMM (the needle was at least a good 5cms long *faints*)
(I'm NOT exposing my lovely bum no matter what~)

it felt surreal;

it's as if it was just yesterday that all of us stood less than 4 feet tall, stomping our tiny feet and carrying power ranger school bags to school.. i don't know what it's like for you when you turn a certain age but for me, i'm starting to miss my childhood and the moments i had when i was a kid more and more. i've finally turned 21, and 3 weeks old.
